traveling around Boulion and luxemburge

hello Bouillon

I have four young English people that will visit Bouillon on July 9 till July 24. Is there a train station and bus station in Bouillon as they will be using public transport. The four young English people will be camping just outside Bouillon. They would like to visit Luxembourg. Please could you send information on your public transport and how much it will cost. My email is a.meadowsam1@gmail.com.uk. Best wish from England to you at Bouillon.

I see that this is your first post on TA: if you look around the forums, you will see that the concept is that questions are asked publicly and answered publicly, not sent to a private e-mail address! It is not a good idea to put your personal e-mail address in a public place. Also, respondents could come from anywhere, they don't have to be in Bouillon...!

Bouillon is not on a railway line, the closest stations are PALISEUL (better choice for bus connection) and Bertrix, from which, at least on weekdays, there are buses to Bouillon run by the Wallonian bus company TEC. Travelling at weekends, it would be necessary to get off the train at Libramont and take bus 8. For general information on transport, see www.bouillon-tourisme.be/index2.php…

It is hard to tell you how much it would cost to get to Bouillon when you have not indicated where those concerned would be departing from! It might be Brussels Airport, Brussels itself, or Charleroi Airport - or it could be somewhere else altogether. As a reference point, from Bruxelles-Central to Paliseul, Bertrix or Libramont costs €20.60 for a standard single. For timetables, see www.belgianrail.be (domestic trains).

You also don't say just how young these "young English people" might be. While the price is the same for all nationalities, travellers under 26 can purchase - only online, not at a station - Go-Pass 1 tickets for a flat rate of €6 to anywhere in Belgium; or, and in this case also at a station, the 10-trip "Go-Pass 10" for €50. And if they are aged 26+, there is also a 10-trip Rail Pass which costs €76.

Train fare from Paliseul/Bertrix to Luxembourg, which requires changing in Libramont and sometimes also in Arlon, is €24.20 / €22.20 respectively (and from Libramont, €19.80) - see www.b-europe.com/Travel (Belgian Railways, international journeys). However, if under 26, they could use Go-Pass 1 or 10 (or if 26+, Rail Pass) for the journey to Arlon and buy separate international tickets Arlon-Luxembourg for €10.40.

Timetable TEC bus 40, Paliseul-Bouillon and vice versa: infotec.be/PDFtemp/PDFgen-H-X9400--f3e8f3680…

Timetable TEC bus 67, Bertrix-Bouillon and vice versa: infotec.be/PDFtemp/PDFgen-H-X9670--ed3285cc7… (this is basically a school bus).

Timetable TEC bus 8, Libramont-Bouillon and vice versa: infotec.be/PDFtemp/PDFgen-H-X9080--3839b5477…

A single trip on any of the buses mentioned will cost €2.90 and a day pass €8 (both per person of course), see www.infotec.be/index.aspx…
