big sur hike with kids - recs needed!

hi there - we are VERY last minute heading to monterey tomorrow with a day trip planned to big sur on saturday or sunday.

can anyone recommend a hike we can do with 2 kids - ages 10 + 8? no more than 3 (possibly 4) miles round trip, ideally with views but not necessary. through the woods is great too.

there seem to be a lot of closures and i thought asking here would be a great place to start.

thanks in advance for any help!

Point Lobos has several easy trails with great views https://pointlobos.org/plan-your-visit/maps The reserve is currently open 8am to 7pm. Get there early for parking on weekends.

The bluff trails at Garrapata are also fairly short and have ocean views. There's an out and back trail currently open on the inland side of Garrapata (Soberanes Canyon) that's about 3 miles round trip which goes through a cactus canyon and then into redwood forest https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=579 There's a nice beach (non-swimming) at the southern end of the park that can be accessed via a short trail and stairs down https:/…GarrapataSPWeb2012Rev.pdf

Valley View trail at Pfeiffer Big Sur is also open which goes through forest to an overlook (the falls part is still closed) and is 2 miles round trip https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=29833

I don't know if you'll make it as far south as Limekiln but there are several short redwood forest trails there that go to old kilns and a waterfall https:/…LimekilnSPWeb2016.pdf

We like the Creamery Meadow Trail at Andrew Molera.

Flat walk through scrub/trees to a beautiful beach.

Fee to park (has toilets!)....
