You won't get cheap at the airport, everything there will be full retail price. For that amount of time and that amount of data your best choice would be an Optus $30 starter sim activated on a $2/day plan which will give you 500mb data/day and unlimited Australian calls.
Noted thanks! May be I will get one at supermarket.. whats the cheapest one available? I read that amaysim is cheap?! is it available in most supermarkets?
Read this to start with: https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Travel-g255055-c207729/Australia:Sim.Card.Options.html
There are Optus and Vodafone shops side-by-side in the Arrivals area os Sydney International terminal (T1).
Both shops charge the same price as their shopping centre stores around the country.
IMO, this is a good deal: http://www.optus.com.au/shop/prepaid/sim-card/2-sim
Coles Supermarket - their own white label Coles Mobile which uses the Optus network - $10 for 10 days - 1GB data and Australian calls unlimited. These sims are currently on special for $2. Each week is a different special.
We used Optus
Does anyone know if getting or renting a pocket wifi cheaper? Is there a pocket wifi rental in the airport?
A pocket wifi is a good idea if you have two or more devices requiring access.
Have a look at these: http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilebroadband/prepaid
It is not cheaper to rent than to buy unless you a visiting for less than five days. Even then, you need to beware of the costs of a deposit and/or compulsory insurance for a rented wifi.
Thanks for the information Luigi A
