Surfers Paradise weather

Hi we are traveling to Surfers Paridise next week and was just wondering how the floods in QLD and Northen NSW have affected the area. I have also heard that Dream World is under renovations and not everything is open, is it a waste of time going?

Mrswarbo,

Next weeks weather isn't looking too bad, but who knows till it gets here. The Sunshine Coast seems to be copping the worst of the rain at the moment, otherwise all is ok. Keep checking the Queensland Police facebook site for updates on flooding and roads but most flooding seems to be Central and Southern NSW

Here's a link for the 2012 maintenance schedule at Dreamworld

Hope this helps

The weather in Surfers Paradise isn't too bad, not much rain today but it was windy. There is a bit more rain forecast for the next week I believe, but Surfers doesn't really get affected by flooding, not since 1974. It can get windy in Surfers due to all the buildings but the temperature is quite pleasant right now. Not too hot, not too cold, just right! It's about 27 to 30 during the days (and is starting to cool down at night, but not freezing, maybe low 20's high teens.

Hi mrswarbo,

We have just returned from 2 wks and only had 3 days of rain, but still got out and did things as it's still warm!

Dreamworld DOES have a few things shut down, as they have changed all the Nickelodeon rides/attractions to Seaworld. Even in Whitewater World, the kids water playground in the middle that used to be Spongebob has had all the Nick signs taken off of it.

Dreamworld now has a couple of new rides tho, so unless you have small kids, it shouldn't make too much difference, our kids still went on the things they always do!

Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Sam :-)
