Recently returned flying with Thomson did 6 excursions. Happy to help if you have any questions about resort or Thomson trips.
Just some clarification on post #29 and the cost of the grand tour.
The grand tour week with it's included excursions etc is undoubtedly cheaper than booking those things separately through Thomsons, but will be significantly more expensive than organising the same week independently or through a local tour operator.
This might be obvious as clearly you pay a significant premium for Thomson to organise for you.
Been to carry bean all over. Never costa rica. Can u tell me if they are as pushy with marajuana as jamaica
No! In some areas it may be offered but if you say no gracias they will leave you alone.
would you tell me about your excursion for arenal wonders with Thompson, we are interested in doing this tour, we know it will be a long journey. There are so many other tours to arenal , we want to see which would be the best for us. much appreciate your feedback thanks
A good one if it was thomson!!
Heading to Riu Palace with husband and another couple. We may be in 40's but not dead so we like lots of activities at hotel and sometimes even the party scene. Would we have to go off resort for this? I like buying from locals...do this many trips to carribean . I know they have excellent excursions but afraid I may have made the wrong choice of hotel if I want locals, partying, shopping and barterring. Any imput as what to expect appreciated or closest area ...coco beach to locals.
If you want a lively 'locals' are you have picked the wrong hotel. It's about a 20 minute drive to Playa del Coco which is a small town. The hotel is fairly laid back but the Guanacaste next door is more lively and you have the options of using their facilities if you stay at the palace.
