Can anyone recommend a nice traditional Czech restaurant in the Prague 1 district, mid price range? And also a nice Italian one?

I'm going to be boring & recommend Ambiente Pasta Fresca (again) for the italian - it's really good & not overly expensive but it doesn't do pizza

in my opinion best Czech food is outside Prague and if in Prague than outside Prague 1, but yes Potrefena Husa , Kolkovna offer good consistent qaulity.

For quite a genuine experience you could try

Its in Mala Strana close to British embassy.

The menu is short, pork knee, pork steak, couple of other things, but tasty.

Our first meal in Prague was at U Cerveneho Kola (the Red Wheel), and it was a delight! Very traditional, small, attentive staff, good meal and wine. It is just a 10 minute walk from Old Town Square in a quiet area of Praha 1. Web site:http://www.ucervenehokola.cz/index.php/en/
