Buying zlotys

I’m seeing exchange rates in the UK and for £100 I’m getting about 466 zlotys? Is that a decent price and would people recommend getting the money when I’m actually in krakow? Any feedback would be great :)

Thanks - Tom

Buy in Krakow, better rate.

BUT and a serious BUT, only buy from a proper Kantor (exchange) and ALWAYS ask how many Zlotys you will be getting before letting them print their receipt.

Use the ones in the main train station or Shopping centre and you will get a better rate than back home.

The advice above about using the kantors in the train station is not good, one of the worst kantors in the city is in the station, and another sister kantor is in the underpass between station and old town.

There are several kantors in the station area. One of the best ones is Kantor Exchange in the big shopping mall adjacent to the station Then there is one with worse rates but still decent in the station area to the left of the mall entrance. Then there are those two rip-off places you are mentioning - they are indeed absolute traps, precisely those I am warning against in my advice under #2.

The best way to be sure is just to read my advice and check the current rate online on xe.com before exchanging. There are zillions of kantors, it is not practical to list each and every of them, especially as some of them may change their practices over time (sadly usually from good to bad, not the opposite). Just learn to tell a bad kantor from a good one - it's not rocket science.
