Siofok for the older folk

I have booked a week in Siofok, but have only just found out that it is considered the party capital. My husband is 70, I am 60. Will it be suitable for us or should I forfeit a cancellation fee and book elsewhere

Wondering why there was no reply to this question. Siófok is considered by many the party capital of Hungary during the summer. What that means, essentially, is that there is part of the town full of bars and clubs, and that many people go to Siófok to party. It is a well-defined part of the town, where people go out to get wasted, though. So if you booked in a more quiet part of the town, you should not be worried.

There is little to see in Siófok, but it is a great place to start your day-trips to Tihany, Balatonfüred, Badaacsony, Keszthely, Tapolca and other interesting places.

Thank you for your reply. We are hiring a car so we will be able to travel further afield and see the sights you have mentioned

Just an FYI, there is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for drinking and driving in Hungary - don't try it. As Aron said, Siofok is primarily for the young to let loose. Frankly, I think you'd enjoy a city like Pecs (SW part of Hungary) a lot better than the area around Balaton. Nothing interesting to say the least.
