UK travellers

Hi all

My wife and myself are looking at Roatan for July/ August 2019. Have searched forum but only coming up with a real old thread 2011, How have people from the UK flown to roatan. If package holiday what company have you used, would rather Fly and book airbnb so interested to know flights you used.

Many thanks

Keith

You can also fly to Houston on United, then catch a nonstop to Roatan.

Check www.skycanner.com to find your Houston to Roatan leg first as the nonstop doesn't fly every day, then plan the rest of the trip. Be sure to click "check whole month." Saturdays are definite flight days, but look around for other days.

info.flightmapper.ne is another site to look for flights.

Haven't heard of any "package holidays," but it's easy to find places to stay. If you're into diving, send out emails to a few dive shops that catch your eye, read reviews, play around with their websites, find one that sounds like YOU, then ask them for advice on accommodations.

Happy planning!

Hi, we are going next March, using United Airlines, Heathrow to Houston, overnight near airport then Houston to Roatan the next morning. Flying out Wednesday and back Sat/Sunday (overnight on plane). Booked an apartment on VBRO. Can’t wait 😀

Marriott has a hotel right AT the airport in Houston. There's a 2-car subway running below the airport -- can catch it under the baggage claim area of the various terminals.

The shuttles buses to the hotels can be quite chancy at times. Once we waited an hour for the Sheraton bus. :-( Staying at the Marriott at the airport has made our trips soooooo much easier! Just a thought.

We've done it for the last two years with BA from (Edinburgh to) London to New York (well, sort of, but that's another story!) and then Cayman Airlines through Grand Cayman. Prices were better than with some of the US airlines and you get to see the Caymans as well. This time we just had a few hours on Cayman on the way out and then an overnight on the way back. Flights from JFK to Cayman are about 4 hours and then it's just a short hop (under an hour) from Cayman to Roatan.

Going for the second time March 2019. We have done UK > Toronto > Roatan

Not sure if the time of year you are travelling affects availability of flights though.
