No there are are no outlet malls but there are regular shopping malls. There's Whaler's Village in W Maui, Shops at Wailea (with some more upscale shops) and Queen Ka'ahumanu Center in Kahului. There is a strip mall on the way into Kahului that has a Borders bookstore, a Sports Authority sporting goods store and an Old Navy. Then, of course there are all the little shops sprinkled throughout the various towns.
There is an outlet store in Kihei on the Piilani Hwy and Ohukai Rd..just as Hwy 311 becomes 31 and starts up the hill. You will find the same clothes that are in the stores on Kihei Road but some $$ less.
Maui Clothing Company is the one barefootn is talking about, same stuff lower prices. Coming from Wailea it will be on your right hand side of the road.
Also check Crazy Shirts in the Piilani Shopping Center in Kihei - Safeway is there, last year they were in the process of becoming an outlet store.
Swap Meets can have bargains and be a lot of fun, there is a big one up near the airport on weekends, both Lahaina and Kihei have them.
Check around for Craft Fairs also, sometimes they advertise, but always post little signs nearby. Kalama Village in Kihei and another just a little ways down.
When you visit Lahaina town there are lots of shops with varying degrees of sales and competitive pricing, depending on what you are looking for. What you are shopping for really can make a difference as to where we can direct you.
Blue Ginger has an outlet in the Lahaina Mall.
We do have a Ross's in Kahului and they are good for discounted brand clothing, luggage and gifts.
T shirts, sarongs and tropical are hard to beat at the Maui Swap Meet on Saturdays in Kahului and
some Sundays at the Lahaina Civic Center - Maui Expo.
Queen Kaahumanu shopping centers info booth has discount
coupons that are mainly for cruise ship clients.
There are also a lot of consignment stores along South Kihei Rd. if you are interested. The discount place on the Piilani Hwy. is fantastic. All kinds of bargains to be had there.
how about Target or Dillard's?
No Dillard's anywhere in Hawaii, and no Target stores on Maui.
