Entry Visa

What is the process for obtaining an entry visa at the airport? Do I just have to pay or do I need to complete forms in advance? I read that I need to bring passport photos, is that true?

Thanks!

No photos..

No forms in advance.

Just join the visa on arrival queue..next to immigration queues.

All this assumes your nationality is on the ok list.

$50 for most folk, in dollars or euros or credit card if mzchine is working.

Thanks for the info. One more question, I've read there's a lot of pickpockets. Is that true? Is it better to leave most things in the hotel or put in a money belt?

Yes pickpockets but no more than in any big city.

Yes have money in a belt or trousers with many zipped pockets.

I personally would always take cash with me and not leave it in hotel room..

Hello! Could you kindly advice if a person holding a Kenyan Passport requires to pay the transit visa? I read somewhere that everyone has to obtain the visa with the exception of Kenyan and Djibouti passport holders

What you read is correct. KENYANS do not need a visa to enter Ethiopia.

Passengers in transit thru Addis airport do NOT need visas..
