Visa

Hello everyone,

Has any u.k. national recently obtained a Guinea Bissau e-visa.

There is no Guinea Bissau embassy here in the u.k.

I can find info on the net regarding obtaining an e-visa if entering the country by air.

Does anyone know if the e-visa can be applied for if entering the country at any land border?

Thank you.

When you apply they ask you to indicate when you arrive at Bissau airport so i guess is only by flight

Does anyone know what the current situation is? The E Visa does not seem to have an option for a Tourist Visa (just Business or Courtesy). Is it possible to get the (tourist)visa on the airport on arrival without the online application? Even the embassy in Brussels is not certain...anyone have any recent experiences?

Flying to Bissau in December. Hope to hear from anyone who made the trip recently!

No Visa on Arrival Program. And E Visa Website seems not to work. Your best bet is. Fly into Dakar. Take a Sept Place or the Ferry to Ziguinchor. Go to the Consulate there. They issue a Visa there and than. Only Alternative. Take TAP to Lisbon. Get the Visa there. And fly with TAP to Bissau direct. For me its easy I am gambian resident. And actually holder of a Guinea Bissau Residence as well.

Spend some days in Lisbon. TAP has an excellent Stopover Program.

Hi Maarten,

We have the same problem: the e-visa currently doesn't work. We will go to GBissau in February, but leave from home already in two weeks. So we want to know, how did you manage the visa. We have heard, there is an embassy in Praia (Cabo Verde, Santiago). Maybe we can ask there.

The other: actual situation in GBissau. Safe? Elections?

Thanks for any news

Hi all,

We arrived in Bissau yesterday. We got the visa at Bissau Airport with no problems at all. It costs 85 euros (each!). We flew with Tap. It was a bit annoying that not everyone from TAP seemed to have the same information regarding the visa but they let us on the flight nonetheless. It was a bit chaotic but took us only 30 minutes.

We asked the immigration officer and he gave us the following information:

Visto eletronico nao esta a funcionar mas, pode solicitar visto de entrada logo ao chegado no posto de fronteira. Quer no aeroporto, Djegue II ( S.Domingos), cambadju, (Bafata) Pirada e Bruntuma (Gabu)

Which roughly translates to: the e visa system does not work. You can get a visa at the following border posts: airport, São Domingos, Bafata, Gabu.

This is no assurance for the future, but for now, it IS possible!

These are great news. Thanks! Yes, it is not cheap, but possible. It would be nice, if you could share some experiences after your visit. Do you know: from today until Jan2 there is a Dakosta festival in Bijagos, Praia de Bruce, Bubaque. Good luck!

Did not know about the festival yet! Definitely will look into it. I'll let you know about our trip when we come back.

Hi, How was your trip in Guinea Bissau? Please tell us some stories. We will go there around Feb 12th, but we have no ticket, no visa yet. We are already travelling but still far away.

Thanks for any idea. Cheers, Birgit
