Dian Fossey

I am heading to Rwanda next week and just found out that if I want to do the hike to Dian's gravesite I must get picked up @ 4am from Kigali Serena to get there by 7am. My first question is:

1. Is there anyway to do the hike AFTER a gorilla trek or later in the morning and

2. is the hike worth waking up at 4am to do it when I have 2 gorilla treks to do?

My suggestion is you give the Dian fossey its own day.

1. No, it's a tough hike. Do not do it after a morning tracking gorillas.

2. Yes it is worth it but put your two gorilla hikes first

I recently did the Mountain Gorillas of Rwanda and stayed at Ruhengeri (all booked through Amahoro Tours) and I based myself there for all of the Treks (2 x Gorillas and 1 x Di Fossey).

I was picked up at 6am by my guide on each day and taken to the park gate. The day I went to the Di Fossey site was the same, it took about half the day, I think we finished about 1pm. It is something that needs to be done by itself as it is a reasonable (not hard) Trek.

My understanding is that All Treks are done in the morning?
