A few days of relaxation after Gorilla trekking at Bwindi

Hi everyone,

I'm heading to Uganda soon with my boyfriend for about two weeks. At the end of the trip his mom is joining us for the gorilla trekking, and then we're heading directly to Rwanda. We would like to take a day or two after the gorilla trek to relax and recharge before heading into Rwanda. It looks like our options are Lake Bunyonyi and Mutanda Lake, or are there others in between?

We're currently looking at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort, Mutanda Lake Resort, and Arcadia Lodges. The most important thing is a nice lodge with good views, though some easy activities would be nice as well. Can anyone recommend some nice lodges between Bwindi and Kigali, probably around $150 - $250 per night/room?

Thanks!

We have just returned from spending 5 nights at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort. I can't fault it. The cottages are lovely with amazing views, staff are brilliant and food it great. We did a boat cruise around the lake and visit to local market, which was really interesting. They also organise a trip to the Pygmies or nature walks around the island.

Book it, you won't be disappointed.

No doubts that Arcadia have teh best views and will be quiet as it is situated away from the bustle of the lake side. Bunyoni is a nice lake with activities.

However for some real R&R with views Mutanda Resort stands out from the other two. On its own peninsular into the lake it is quite private and the view on a calm day with the Virungas reflecting in the lake is almost surreal. You can look at those mountains and know that that is where you are heading next. Boats can be hired for exercise and there are treks in the area..

I agree, the views of the Virunga mountains from Mutanda Lake Resort are unbeatable.

Well Arcadia Lodge & Bunyonyi Eco Resort are on lake Bunyonyi in Kabale and Lake Mutanda Resort is in KIsoro.

Arcadia will give fanstastic views (un matched) whereas Eco Resort is an Island on the lake with some game actually.

In Kigali Hotel Des Mille Collines may work for You.
