Swedish Massage

I do NOT want to go to sex parlour and I have arthritis (age, almost 67) so I don't want Thai massage. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced Swedish massage by a masseur and not a masseuse in Bangkok. I am staying downtown at the Bangkok Christian Guesthouse. Also, I like reflexology.

Wow, you really should do a bit of research about the country you're going to visit. Just google 'Thai massage' and you'll quickly learn that it has absolutely nothing to do with the sex industry.

That is only an option as it generates more money for the business. Just to clarify any shop is capable of this. It is always on an upper floor. *It is not mandatory & it is not in your face either. Below are some shops where you will not see it in your face. Don't worry ~ You won't find it unless you are looking for it.

Having said that... enjoy your massage!

Remember these words and use them where ever you go in Thailand.

ba-bow (bow rhymes with cow & means: softly)

nung cha-moan (nung means: one & cha-moan means: hour)

"Pim Porn Massage” is a completely legit massage shop (in Sukhumvit) on Soi 8. …Go down Soi 8, about 60 meters, and it's on the right hand side *just before you get to the 7-11. *It's immediately next door to a small laundry shop.

The name "Porn" is common and has no connotation to the video type of anything of that nature. There is no 'funny business going on, and none will be offered or entertained. It’s a 'no frills' place where the emphasis is on massage and not on decoration. They don't skimp on the service side. No frills... just good, clean and well delivered massage..

They open at 10:00am and close at 01:00am. If no one is there at midnight on, they might close the upper floors to start cleaning early, but they are open until at least 00:00 or later. They are a mother-daughter team which is running the shop and have another location around the corner. But Pim Porn is their first and biggest location.

You can get a 1.5hr combination shoulder/foot/leg massage and might combine that with a manicure or a pedicure.

Very reasonably priced...

Also on Soi 8, Baan Dalah, offering facials, massages on the right hand side about 20 meters down the Soi. It is steps from the southeast exit from Nana sky-train station.

There are a million massage shops and spas in Bangkok, of course. This one is particularly nice as it has a very nice decor, rather zen-like atmosphere, a sign that says 'silence is golden' which is observed, comfortable rooms with heated massage cushions (nice, as it is air con), and charming masseuses.

350 BHT All this, and a charge of just $11 USD per person for a traditional Thai massage for an hour, a bit more than some establishments, but much less than the fancier hotel spas. ****Try choosing: 'Traditional Thai Lite version' for less twisting.

Also on Soi 8 Foot Joy (ladies wear pink tops,) on the corner nearest to On8 Hotel entrance. *They do wonderful foot massages and full body massages.

…Reasonably priced.

Most massage centres have both male & female staff. http://www.healthlandspa.com is an excellent centre with several branches around town, and with professionally trained staff.
