Does anyone know of or has stayed at Casablanca? We are considering this place to stay at. There will be 6 adults.
Thanks
Jody
Anyone who has travelled a lot and stayed in privately leased homes rather than over-priced and over-crowded resorts would consider Casablanca to be a delight in any location, especially for the price. Sure, it has that rustic quality but the last week that we spent there was fabulous. Everything worked just fine and we especially appreciated the large kitchen, two bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, solid security, bedroom air-conditioning, massive pool, outdoor bbq, large deck, huge living area, 20 TV channels, DVD player, total privacy and the lagoon views. Yes, the nights can be a little bit noisy with the friendly local families and children out on the streets to all hours, dogs barking, and the odd coconut falling onto the roof (take some earplugs). If you want to be locked away in a cocoon at some far flung resort away from the daily life of the place you are visiting, then there are plenty of places to do that. If you want to imbibe some local colour, have independence, privacy and comfort, then I can recommend Casablanca. Just go with the right frame of mind and expectations - it actually turned out better than what I thought we'd find. And I can highly commend the staff who had the place spotless on our arrival and greeted us with real hospitality.
My husband and I can also recommend the Casablanca as a venue for a family or a larger group to stay at. As Linkkayhol and DoubleLJ's correctly identify, it is rustic and ain't the Ritz however it is large, private and comfortable with all the amenities one requires for a sojourn away - certainly an alternative to staying at a resort. The obliging and friendly caretaker Annalyn and her finance are a credit to the establishment. Viv
