How far is Easter Isalnd from Santiago?

My friends and I are going to Buenos Aires and Santiago in September and we are contemplating on whether to go to Easter Island. How far is Easter Island from Santiago? Do we have to pay the The reciprocal entry fee when we come back from Easter Island? Which airline is safe and cheapt to go to Easter Island?

It is a five hour flight. EI is part of Chile so you do not pay the fee as it is a national flight. Only international flights into Santiago have the fee attached. If you enter Chile from Argentina by land, you will not pay. If this is how you are entering, it is possible that the pass can close due to snow. It has been known to happen in September, so build some flexibility into your schedule if you are planning on taking a flight when you arrive.

The only airline which flies there is LAN.

Easter Island is a place worth at least a 4n stay. It's a world heritage site by UNESCO and it belongs to the province of Valparaíso.

LAN has flights almost everyday and the tickets have a wide variety of prices, starting from USD 450, but can reach up to USD 700.

You have to decide with several months in advance, for this reason, and the flights are normally full 1-2 mo before.

I hope you come to Easter Island, it's an unforgettable experience,

Regards from Valparaíso,
