Poroy to Cusco (Taxi or Hotel Transportation)

I am arriving by train from MP.

How easy is it to get a reliable taxi from the station at around 8pm.

Or should I arrange to be picked up by my hotel - they implied usually they didn't arrange such private transport.

It would be better if you have the hotel arrange a taxi for you since it gets somewhat chaotic at the station, and by the time you get to Poroy, it would be dark. As a reference, we arranged for a taxi ourselves at the station, and it cost us 20 soles.

Just got back from our Peru trip. We arrived into the Poroy station from Ollantaytambo at around 7:30 pm and there were plenty of taxi's (even if seemed a bit chaotic). We split a taxi cab with another couple for S. 20 per couple.
