There are three now I think. One at the gas station, one at the Banco Estado which only accepts Cirrus, Maestro and Mastercard branded cards but not Visa. The other one inside the Banco Santander accepts Visa, Cirrus, Maestro and Mastercard. They can sometimes run out of cash if there are a lot of visitors.

You can get cash advances on a Visa card at a bank, but hours are limited and there are long lines.

A lot of restaurants and lodging will accept credit cards, but cash pesos is the easiest form of payment for most things. If you are renting a room in a family home they will want cash.
