Flight Delay 2010 - Sorted

After a drawn out exchange of correspondence and some frustration we have today received a cheque for 1200 Euros in settlement of the delayed flight compensation.

The moral of the story is if at first you don't succeed - keep at the b.....s!

A big thanks to yorkietourer, EnglandBazz and Mzuma and Mama Mzee for advice, guidance and support.

Well done Paymonster............ What can I say? "money goes to money comes to mind" :-)

Yes I'd suggest that people don't allow themselves to be fobbed off by the airline, especially if they try asking you for a boarding pass etc. There are numerous no-win-no-fee solicitors out there.

Me and Mama Mzee got our compensation from Cosmos for a delay when returning from Kenya.

The whole thread is worth viewing.... In this case the aeroplane needed a new part which was sent to Nairobi unfortunately they didn't bother to send the right tool to fit the part.

PS Paymonger, is Mama Mzee's 5% in the post?

Rhinos_99 - All airlines have the possibility of having to compensate people built into their pricing policy so if you have bought airline tickets before then you have always paid into their compensation pots! Much the same as your car insurance pricing policy includes the fact that there are a lot of uninsured drivers out there that might crash into you! Therefore if you fail to claim you are not only telling the airline its acceptable for them to mess you about for 24 hours but you are also handing them the cash value of the compensation! I sent them my message and made them pay according to the law. Its your right to put up with it if you wish.

Have to agree with Rhinos on this one. Nothing personal you must understand. I just think this is the tip of the iceberg and the air traveller will foot the bill in the end.

I've been following a similar post on the Gaurdalavaca Cuba forum.

Yes, I also agree with rhinos, its your average customer who will end up paying for it in increased flight prices.

So rhinos I suffered a 32 hour delay because of an engine problem the third problem this engine had suffered in. Two weeks !

And I don't deserve compensating for that ?

Because the Supreme Court felt I deserved it .
