Which theoretically allows you to pay for extra luggage, I'm guessing prices are per KG.

Yet again, wondering if you can book extra luggage via that website knowing that a regular search already results in a white screen, able to pay with non-Asian credit card, and able to add prepaid luggage if the flight is e.g. booked via a 3rd party website. Lot's of question marks.

I am in a similar situation as I’ll be taking a domestic flight from Labuan Bajo to Maumere on 19 Jun (also on a Wings Air flight). While I don’t have a problem with limiting my suitcase to 7kg, the allowable size of the carry-on luggage seems a tad small at 35cm x 25cm x 20cm.

(I will spending abt a week in Flores, like OP.)

Hence, I am thinking of buying luggage allowance if that’s possible.

I did some further research online, and read that it is advised to book the flight via 3rd party websites tiket.com or traveloka.com. I was also advised that extra luggage booked via Tiket.com and Traveloka.com is accepted and recognized by WingsAir.

The only reservation I have is that both Tiket and Traveloka have very low score on Trustpilot. However, I cannot distinguish if these bad reviews are e.g. only for hotel or ticket bookings vs. flights.

I am not sure if this is useful for you, but I ran some additional checks - including with Anne, the lovely and very knowledgeable founder of https://www.travel2flores.info/.

The rates that you have mentioned in #4 are, indeed, correct and you can purchase additional baggage for check-in in multiples of 5kg, ie. +5kg, +10kg, etc.

To also clarify the linked press release in #2: What it says is that no FREE checked luggage are allowed for WingsAir propeller flights, ie. you CAN check in additional luggage as long as you pay for them. They are just not available for free.

I booked my flight from Labuan Bajo to Maumere yesterday directly on the WingsAir Indonesia website, and added a 10kg checked luggage option. Everything went smoothly, including payment with my foreign (Singapore) credit card. Shortly after, I received my e-ticket, which also indicates that I have checked luggage at the weight purchased.

Perhaps, you might want to try again with LionAir Indonesia?

I retried againg via http://www.lionair.co.id but again phase the same issue, after filing in the From, To and date (tried different dates, different language settings, different browsers) I only land on an empty white page... accessing the website from Western Europe seems impossible.

Did you book via http://Lionar.co.id ? or still another WingsAir specific website ?

Try booking through AirAsia. I have a foreign credit card and they now pretty much allow you to book almost all Indonesian airlines (I saw wings air when I searched it).

I booked using the link of the Lion Air Indonesia website that you indicated - and it’s not a problem for me.

You could definitely try AirAsia, as indicated in Post #9. It seems like they are having a discount promotion for non-Air Asia flights if you book via their App. I ran a search for one way flights to Maumere and Ende from Labuan Bajo - and the Wings Air option shows up for them both.
