I am revising my overland trip itinerary after the closure of Maumere airport.

My original plan was to stop overnight at Riung BUT without a visit the Roung 17 Islands. The relevant section of the itinerary would have been :

…Moni-Riung(overnight)-Bajawa…

If Riung on its own (without 17 Islands) is not worth the drive (from Moni) all the way up to the north coast, would it be better for me to omit it, and just focus on the route from Moni direct to Bajawa (2 nights here), focusing on the attractions along this route instead?
