hi, does anyone know if there are connections between these two cities, and what the schedule is? i have looked all over the internet, and am not sure the timetables/connections posted on the various airline websites are reliable.

Sounds like only one airline Merpati flies there now and from what I understand they can be quite unreliable, so give yourself plenty of time to get from place to place.

Try http://www.merpati.co.id if you haven't already done so. You'll see the schedule under Surabaya (departure cities are listed in alphabetic order).
You have to figure out the connection yourself, and there are no flight numbers listed, but with a bit of work, you can do it.
I can't vouch for the accuracy of the timetable. It says Sept 1st, and they seem to update the site regularly. It was correct the last time I flew Merpati
