1. Re: Security

Security has been "beefed up" in the resorts.

Armed guards will be patrolling the beaches.

Security/police/military will be very visible in the tourist areas/main thoroughfares and around hotels.

Thats not likely a situation that will endear to many folk.

But thats the position right now.

Mick

PS

I dont know this from being there recently

I regularly follow Tunisian news websites.

The return of travellers on package deals for the first time since Summer 2015 from the UK has made headlines in North Africa and elsewhere.

This BBC article from Frank Gardner explains some reasons why the UK has lifted the travel restriction to Tunisia

Where was camel man. Rain or shine he walks that beach.

Roll on June, or earlier if I can blag a week off.

4. Re: Security

You won’t see hardly any of the numerous vendors on the beach as before ... Police/security make sure of that !!

Rest assured though there is always an Ali with his Camel not too far away.

I would have thought this happens in other part's of the World not just Tunisia,

You can't blame all Arab men just because you were sucked into this sort of con, most people are aware of holiday romances even in Europe, it's well known throughout the World,

A lot of people get trapped online with the same sort of romantic promise's.
