WHAT HOTEL did you stay in next to Xian warriors entrance?

Do you recommend that hotel or did you notice another nicer? We need private bath and will have just arrived from the USA on May 9.

Please reply if you possibly can. I have searched extensively and hotels an hour away keep coming up.

You are misreading his blog item. His hotel is near the train station in Xian from where he took the bus to the mausoleum.

#2 The Warriors are an hour away (given traffic) from Xi'an city, which is where most of the hotels are. Very few people purposely try to stay away from the city and close to the Warriors, since this would be inconvenient for everything else. However, if you want to stay considerably closer (like 10 minutes away from the Warriors), you could try something by the Huaqing Hot Springs in Lintong which is at the foot of Mt. Lishan. There's at least one hotel/resort/spa there.

Our hotel near the main railway station was great. As said the bus to Terracotta warrirors museum is from near the train station, so a short walk. The hotel bell desk can get you a taxi if you are so inclined. In my opinion, no need to stay near the Terracotta warrirors museum.

Trust this helps.

The detailed report helps, coz we were wondering if we needed to sign up for a guided tour (which usually limists us on time and things to see). Did you guys also travel to Zhangjiajie? Any tips on how to get around there ?
