We will be arriving in Kansai at 20.00. How complicated is it for 2 retirees, with luggage, to get the ferry and port liner to Sannomiya station?. Would it be easier to use the Airport limousine bus? I am concerned about changing from airport to ferry to port liner that late after a long flight!

It's not complicated. All signs are in English and the airport website has directions. Where is your final destination in Kobe? You could take a taxi from the ferry dock in Kobe for not a huge cost.

Taxi would be about 3500 yen or so, a bit much. The Port Liner is very easy to ride and signs are in English. However, limo bus would probably be easier, in that you can get to the bus stop after leaving customs within a minute or two, and take your luggage with you on the free cart provided in customs. It will take you all the way to Sannomiya.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I think the Limo Bus might be easier, even though it takes a little longer.

It's nice, because the bus guys put your bags underneath for you and you ride high above other traffic. As noted earlier, pick up a free luggage cart in customs and take it with you all the way to the bus stop. The bus stops are in a long line along the sidewalk right outside of the customs exit. They are well signed. Tickets can be purchased from a vending machine near the bus stop.

Limousine bus is easier. If you are arriving and departing from Kobe make sure you get a return bus ticket to save some money. Plus the bus stop in Sannomiya is just 2 minutes to your hotel on foot!
