I will be visiting Foz do Iguacu (Brazil) for a day coming from Sao Paolo, and I would like to go to Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) for 1-2 hours only. I prefer not to buy a visa as it's too costly for such a short visit. I heard that you don't necessarily need a visa if you are crossing the border for a very short time and will be staying within 10 KM radius.
1. What is the BEST way to make this happen without any complications? Should I just walk across the friendship bridge by myself? Or should I hire a taxi driver in Foz do Iguacu to drive me to Ciudad del Este and back? Or should I book an organized tour - is there any tour that includes a visit to Ciudad del Este?
2. I will have Bazil multiple entry visa, but I won't have Paraguay visa. So, should I stop at the border control before the bridge to get an Exit stamp from Brazil? In that case, I will also need to stop for an Entry stamp when coming back?
3. What about Paraguay? Since I can't get the entry and exit stamps of Paraguay (as I won't have the visa), will this be a problem when entering back to Brazil? Do they check Paraguay stamps as well?
Appreciate your reply! Thanks!
