Argentina currency

I'll be visiting Argentina in February, 2018 for the first time. I've been advised that the peso is weak and so told to take $dollars - is that good advice?

If it is, will shops etc. accept dollars or will I have to exchange them for pesos once I'm in the country?

If anyone has any advice about visiting the country to pass on - dos and don'ts - I'll be grateful.

Many thanks.

If you only have a short time CdE is not an option. Traffic can be 3 to 4 hours one way.

With step up border police and sniffing dogs, you must declare funds in excess of $10,000.00 Reals at the BR border. Receita Federal has added a number of new agents on the BR/PY border

Would not want to be walking around CdE with a lot of money.

OP traveled in Feb. so visitors to this site should be aware of entry requirements into PY. Many may not be from the EU and visa may be required.
