Thank you for update. It is great news.
Good news: it will make it easier for foreign travellers to access and include these places in a trip without taking up so much transport time getting in/out.
Bad news: it will also make it easier for domestic Chinese travellers doing short breaks to access them, meaning that crowds at these locations should be expected to increase not just on weekends and holidays, but throughout the week and spanning more of the year including traditional "off-season."
Actually, it's a new high speed rail Hefei-Fuzhou, which joins the existing railway Hangzhou(Shanghai)--Nanchang at Shangrao. This is a detour to Huangshan(Wuyuan) or to Wuyishan in opposite direction.
Time Hangzhou-Huangshan should be about 3-3.5 hours, a little less to Wuyuan.
Hangzhou-Wuyishan 3 hours.
I think most people from Hangzhou will still prefer to take bus to Huangshan for the more time flexibility and easier access.
But if to Wuyishan or Wuyuan or if from Shanghai it's another case.
Perfect for us ...does anyone know where I can find out the timetable please?
Not available until mid. June.
We'll only know the schedule fir sure when tickets eventually go on sale.
Will it be the same station in Huangshan?
No，a new one quite far from Tunxi, almost half an hour drive from your downtown hotel, which is located on your way to Huangshan.Edited: 26 May 2015, 23:52
