Two Days in New Delhi

Hi. Looking for a really nice resort type property. Coming in on a night flight and will use a day or two to get used to the time change.

I’d like a nice resort with pool etc - preferably safe to walk around outside of hotel if possible.

I want to use AMEX points converted to Starwood or Marriott. I know ITC Maurya might work as well as Marriott Aerocity.

Does anyone have suggestions for a first time visitor needing to stay in New Delhi. No other city...

There are resort type properties near Airport on Jaipur highway, rosset house, oberoi (and more) but there is nothing to walk outside and also not suggested. There is nothing around Marriott other than hotels in aerocity. The hotels around Cannaught place will fulfilled your requirements, lots of place to eat/drink in evening also to shop.Unless you are having any specific reason to stay near Airport,CP area is better for a tourist point of view.

Thank you! I’ll look more at CP.

I was looking for a property that I can exchange American Express points - not sure.

There are 5 star properties in CP and you can check with them on email with them.

Radisson might also accept the points you are referring to.

Thanks. Radisson would...but no pool.

Imperial and Shangrila look great - but can’t use points. Lol.

CP looks like a great area to stay. Any other neighborhoods I should consider?

Assuming you are coming now, the weather is super-hot. It's going to be like this until July when it rains. So "walking around" is not really a majorly attractive proposition. Connaught Place is full of western-style chains and shops, like Nike and KFC and whatnot. It's not as if it's a very attractive place. If the idea is to relax, I would go with ITC Maurya to use those points. Great food, some of the best food in Delhi. Lovely Kaya Kalp spa, nice pool, and conveniently located for monuments. A 15 min ride to India Gate.
