Caribbean 802

We are planning our first trip to Gulf Shores, and planning to book at this smaller resort over the fourth of July week. We have previously stayed in larger resorts in Florida but did not like the hassle with elevators, long waits and crowded pools. Kids ages range from 9 to early twenties.

Looking for information on fireworks, places to eat, if they are within walking distance, if there are any beach activities close to the condo and shopping of course for my daughter.

Thanks in advance!

It is a great low rise complex......

You will not be in walking distance of much of anything...

But the area is quiet ..

I will suggest some places to eat and shop, I have to run to work..

Just above Gulf shores is a shopping outlet mall, In foley..

While there, Check out Lamberts , home of the thrown Rolls

http://www.throwedrolls.com/

Scattered throughout Gulf shores and orange beach is the typical souvenir shops...make sure to visit the one with the Giant shark entrance at the corner of Beach hwy and bwy 59 (the T) ..

In orange beach there is the wharf, a unique outdoor shopping mall , including the rave movie theater

One of our favorite places to eat is Lu LU's

JImmy buffets sister restaurant

Oyster house is also a great choice...

We also like calypso joes

They serve a coconut flavored tarter sauce that is yummy

A fun , free thing is to drive over to pensacola to the naval airbase to see the blue angels practice and to the naval air museum..

Exploring the fort in fort morgan just off of Gulf shores is also a fun thing to see..

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I booked our unit yesterday and we are really looking forward to visiting in July.

Kids will love the thrown rolls for sure!
