Family with 2 teens looking for suggestions within walking or short cab ride distance from Capitan Suizo. Any recommendations?
Scroll down this page - https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g309… . Below the reviews of your hotel on TA, you can see Nearby Attractions and Nearby Restaurants, with the distance to walk to them. Each has a lot of reviews.
The nicest place nearby is Langosta Beach Club, a short walk from your hotel, and it is very good. The restaurant in your hotel is also very good. Many other choices are found about 1 km away on central Tamarindo. In my opinion, the best restaurants in Tamarindo are Seasons, Dragonfly, and Pangas, but there are many choices. You could walk to all but Pangas, but in the evening I recommend taking a cab home to your hotel location (there is no sidewalk on the road behind your hotel, and you should not walk on the beach after dark anywhere in Costa Rica).
Thank you Mc....nothing better than first hand advice by a local....not a old links...to recoomend a place to eat ...the best is if you expereince the place...
Thank you for the great recommendations!
If poster 3 wants to criticize the information provided by TripAdvisor, re Nearby restaurants to the hotel in Qn in the link provided in my reply, he might want to contact the ppl running the TA site through the Help Centre and tell them their info is "old". I will choose to continue to believe it, as well as the multiple recent reviews of the places to eat there.
It is poster #3 that is"getting old"
Capitan Suizo has a pretty good beachfront restaurant and Langosta Beach Club Restaurant is within 3 blocks away from the hotel. It is a bit expensive. But as McDocEdmonton mentioned above, within one KM you will be in town with great restaurants with variety of food options.
For a really nice dinner, pangas is a cab ride away. They have this steak served on a lava rock that is great. Patagonia is quite tasty too. Make sure you try the lunch out of the lady's car in front of the casino too, it's typical Costa Rica food.
Thank you Ron...I will try it next time around...
We are traveling to Costa Rica next Spring and thinking about staying at the Capitan Suizo. We also have two teens. How did your teens like the hotel? Was there enough for them to do at the hotel (or in town)? Thanks!!
