Dear all, have lokeda t allyour comments regarding accommodation, and narrowed my choices down to Tickle pink Inn, La Playa, or Tradewinds.

Any recommendations please.

All three are nice.

If it's important to you to be able to walk out the door and be a short walk from restaurants, shops and the beach, stay at either La Playa or Tradewinds. La Playa is an older, historic building with lots of charrm. Tradewinds is newer, with an Asian influence. It was featured in Architectural Digest.

Tickle Pink is a very nice place with outstanding views, but with the exception of the restaurants next door at the Highlands Inn, you can't walk anywhere. The Carmel Highlands, where it's located, are about a five-minute drive from Carmel proper, so it's not a long drive.

I think your biggest consideration should be the kind of surroundings you want and how important easy access to Carmel's downtown is.

Hi, I have stayed at both La Playa and the Tickle Pink Inn twice. Both are very nice properties, I prefer the rooms at Tickle Pink Inn over the rooms at La Playa. They have recently added new flat screen TV's and the Heavenly Dreams bedding and mattresses at TPI which were heavenly! We stayed this past May at TPI, I love the outdoor terraced hot tub there and the wine and cheese reception held in the oceanview terrace room. Breakfast is included with your room stay at TPI, not at La Playa tho there is a restaurant on-site.

The views from TPI are spectacular whereas the views at La Playa are nice, there are some oceanview rooms but the scenery is not as pretty as in the Carmel Highland's area. It is just a short drive into downtown Carmel. Also, right next door to TPI is the fantastic restaurant, Pacific's Edge where we enjoyed dinner this past May. Any further questions on the rooms or amenities, feel free to ask! :)
