Los Angeles tips

I was in LA for 4 days. Best tip – rent a car and use a GPS. The distances are huge and if you want to see most of the attractions you need a car. Driving in LA is not bad, if I compare with Toronto rush hour. Some personal impressions regarding the LA attractions: the Getty Center is the best museum in Los Angeles; LACMA was very disappointing because lots of rooms were closed and the fee $25 was too much for what they offered; the Hop on Hop off is very pricey and if you have a car you can drive along the same route and it’s a lot more convenient to see the city. Also, the Petersen Car Museum and Madame Tussaud’s are too pricey, given that each takes at most half an hour to go through . If you are going to Griffith Observatory during the weekend the best approach is the leave the car in the parking lot of the Greek Theatre and take the Dash bus (50 cents) to the Observatory. Also drive along the Mulholland Drive if you have time, to get great views of the city and fancy houses in the hills. Of course you cannot miss Dolby Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, Getty Villa, Santa Monica Beach, Warner Brothers Studio tour, OUE Skyspace and Universal Studio Hollywood.

Thank you!

Curious of Warner Brothers and Universal, which one do you recommend to a family with teenagers? We have done Universal Orlando before so although that was great, we are looking for something more "Movie" focused than ride focus and as don't watch much prime time TV (more movies and internet videos), we aren't interested in TV show sets....

Any help is appreciated!

Universal is a theme park with a movie ride.

Warner Bros is a studio.
