What to wear

Hello - just wondering what to wear in Palm Springs in mid-February. Is it common to wear sandals and sundresses, capri pants that time of year, or do the locals stick to long pants. I prefer to not stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks for any advice.

You can wear your warm weather clothes on warm days in Feb. Just to be safe, I'd bring the capris and some slacks. Sandals are fine.

You won't stick out as long as you dress with style and respect. Sloppy doesn't fly in Palm Springs. Think resort casual and remember that everyone goes there in the winter for the fair weather.

Don't really see too many sundresses/sandals this time of year, it's only around mid 60's this week. Lots of capri pants, flats, cute sweaters at night. My husband wears resort shorts.

You may be able to wear shorts during the day, but at night you should stick to long pants. Its too cold for sandals now, so bring comfortable casual shoes.

Hi, addicted -- The hard reality is that visiting a climate like the low desert in February means you MIGHT need everything in your fashion arsenal from Uggs to flip-flops, and from shawls to tank tops. Often in the same day! Although it seems superficial to say so, we do see people who stick out like sore thumbs because they packed too light. Just being honest, here! Important to remember that the locals are glad to see you, blue toes or beads of sweat notwithstanding! Have a great visit!
