I'm sure things in Santa Barbara will be back to normal well before July. The main damage occurred south of Santa Barbara.

Not all beaches were affected by the mud slide.

Well, I just read that officials are allowing mud from the slides to be dumped on area beaches, so many are closed for now, but July is still far off.

Most of the beaches are open now, only the ocean at some beaches is closed and that will be over in the next couple of weeks as long as there is no more rain.

Any beach in Southern California that has a river/creek mouth near it will have its water closed after a big rain storm because of bacteria. Rain is so infrequent in July that it isn't even a concern really.

Only Goleta Beach is being used currently for mud removal as far as I know. Originally Butterfly Beach was being used to, but I think only Goleta is now.

Below is the latest press release from the County of SB. Do note that only the OCEAN is closed to swimming, not the beaches themselves. Even in spots where mud and sediment washed down the beach is still open over all and only the area where the creeks came into the ocean were closed and cordoned off.

No.

See my response above and click on the link.

The mud was/is being put in the surfline/zone so it will wash away naturally, which is what would have happened naturally if the creeks had not been overwhelmed by the volume of the mud.

By July you will not know it even happened.
