Lodging for 5 in Santa Cruz?

I am looking for lodging for a family of 5 all older kids, 18,20, 23. We would like to be close to town and beach ect. Suggestions?

Are you looking for a vacation rental, or a hotel/motel?

(Sorry not to have answered sooner, we have been out of town...)

Well either one depending on price but I am leaning towards a vacation rental if I can get one for only 4 nights.

I appreciate any advise you can offer.

For a vacation rental, try Bailey Properties for a rental to see if you can get one for 4 nights. A good location would be near Twin Lakes State Beach, on the north end, across the river from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Or try Kendall and Potter

You might also look at Trip Advisor's vacation rentals section.

If you do a hotel you would need two rooms. Near the water are the following...Dream Inn, Surf and Sand Inn, Seaway Inn. These all have views, the first two are the most costly. There are also a lot of motels in the general area, but I do not like the location of those on the other side of the Boardwalk.

The main street of town is not far away from the Boardwalk and the Municipal Wharf. Two blocks from that there is a Best Western All Suites Inn, which might have a suitable configuration for your family. We have had friends stay there and they liked it.

Google these websites and then come back if you have more specific needs.

Good Luck.
