The Charter, bad rental or stick with the Park Hyatt?

Hi, We're going to BC in November with our 5 yr. old. Love the location of the Park Hyatt, but they are sold out of suites. Residence prices per nt. are still more expensive than an executive king and eating out in style for every single meal. I like the idea of The Charter with separate bedroom, kitchen, laundry, etc., but am very cautious about individually owned condos. We had a nightmare ski trip to Sun Valley that we booked through central reservations -- condo looked nothing like pictures, didn't have the amenities as advertised, & was expensive to boot. Ended up leaving early.

Charter is a great second option. request a Platinum rated condo> the owners have to keep their condos in tip-top shape to maintain their rental status.

Is your 5 year old going to ski school? If so, you may wish to be a little closer to that. Try Village Hall (now re-named Gerald Ford Hall) Park Plaza, St. James Place, Market Square, Villa Montane, Beaver Creek Lodge... all of these have reviews & links on this site. The Charter does have a shuttle to take you to ski school & the lifts, from the others I recommended you can walk.

The Charter is a great option - shuttle, restaurants, pools, hot tubs, etc. Probably the best condo-hotel in the Vail/Beaver Creek area.
