Early December 2014 Visit?

We normally go skiing in late January or early February so snow is never an issue. This year, we are considering going with a group of non-skiers in early to mid December 2014 because prices are so great.

Would much be open in Beaver Creek for non-skier activities?

What about kids activities? Know there are many kid activities later in ski season but didn't know early December.

Appears www.beavercreek.com still lists Summer activities.

Group is 2 adults in 70's, 4 adults in 30's, 3 kids (ages 2, 5, 11).

We love Beaver Creek with the ice skating, cookies, restaurants and village atmosphere.

Push it to as close to mid-December as you can. You'll find all the shops open, ice rink, cookies, village atmosphere. You'll definitely have more limited skiing, but it gets better with each day as you push out to the middle. I'm there every year first week in December for the World Cup. There's always reasonable skiing and some years its great. But by a week after that it starts getting much better.

Look for some activities that require more snow to be a bit limited (sleigh rides), but you'll still have a great time and, yes, prices are considerably lower.

Have fun.

There was a big storm right before Thanksgiving, but it has been dry since and its been warm for a while. A lot of longer range forecasts are showing a continued period of dry weather form much of December. Let's hope those long range forecasts are not correct, but it doesn't look like there is any significant snowfall in the near term. Some people are looking to January for things to change.

Skied BC today. Groomers are great. Not groomed not so great. No one knows what 2 weeks ahead looks like. As a matter of fact no one, not even Joel, predicted the Thanksgiving storms. ✌ I think you will have good to great conditions.

If no natural snow as some predict they'll be plenty of runs with the fake stuff.
