Best Clearwater Beach Resorts for Young Children

My daughter and I are taking her 2 and 4 yr old to Florida May 17-22. We will be spending a day in Orlando then driving to Clearwater for the remainder. We thought that would be a nice area. Can anyone suggest a nice resort for this age group on the beach? Are there other things to do in the area?

They nicest resort for young children would be the Sandpearl - but it is pricey. It has a zero entry pool and is right on the beach with umbrella and chair rentals.

Clearwater has lots to do in the area. The kids might enjoy Captain Nemos Pirate Criuise. There are nightly celebrations at pier 60 with face painting, buskers, balloon animals and crafts for sale, and the Clearwater Aquarium is home to Winter - the star of the Dolphin Tale.

The Hilton is right next to the pier where the nightly sunset celebration is. The Pier House 60 Hotel is also right there, as well as a Hyatt.

There is a Marriott with a nice pool area and kids club. But it is across a bridge from the main beach area on Sand Key. You would need to drive or take the trolley over the bridge to everything on Clearwater Beach. It is possible to walk it, but is quite a hike and probably too far for kids that young.

Thank you for these suggestions! I think I've been on a few of these sites but you never can tell if they are as nice as they look in their pictures. I will go back in and take a look.

I have tried all the hotels/resorts for a small suite or at least a studio kitchen with not any luck for our dates May 18-22. Had to book a room with 2 dbl beds at Hilton Clearwater Beach, of which pictures look a little cramped. Says there is a fridge but we really could have used a small kitchenette with smaller children. Looks like a nice beach though so guess we will make do.

The Hilton is an excellent location - right on the beach and in the midst of everything, so location wise, it can't be beat. A few other suggestions are: Try the Hyatt. It is an all suite hotel and very nice. The Holiday Inn has suites. It is right on the ocean - but there is a sea wall in front of it, and not beach. It is a few blocks to the beach - and I believe it has a kiddies pool. If you want something that isn't as nice with a suite - the Pelican Pointe is a suite hotel. The reviews are pretty good. It's across the street from the beach and south of the Hilton. Coconut Cove is also a suite hotel, but it isn't on the beach and is a bit of a walk away - it gets good reviews. The Eastshore Resort is also a suite motel - older but it gets excellent reviews. It's about 2 blocks from the beach. Look at those places and the reviews and see if they would suit you. If you don't care if you are right on the beach - just across the bridge on Sand Key is the Marriott. It is an all suite hotel and it has an excellent pool for kids. It's on the intra-coastal though and not the beach.

The Marriott is across t

I just had another thought - the Hyatt and the Sandpearl both have individually owned units that are sometimes listed on VRBO and Flip Key for 7 night stays. The prices would be cheaper than if you booked them through the hotel. You would book them through the private owner of the units and pay the owner - not the hotel.

Thanks LifesABeach86. I had never heard of these. I will take a look. We are wanting to be on the beach and have a suite but I guess you can't have it all:) This was a last minute decision of a trip. You have some good suggestions. Will see what we can find. Thanks!
