Pre cruise

Hi folks. First timers in Miami. Staying for 3 nights before our cruise. Looking at staying in Brickell area.

Some questions please..

We would like to do Everglades tour, some clothes shopping at a mall for some great bargains (If possible?) and maybe a bus tour of Miami.

Is this achievable in 3 days and easily done?

Is Brickell a central area for sightseeing?

Roughly how much $ from MIA to Brickell? Then Brickell to cruise port.

Many thanks for any info

The Dolphin Mall is close to Miami Airport and has GREAT bargains. They have dedicated shuttle service from downtown. Check the mall website for details. The mall can take a full day to get through, so the website will give you an overview of the shops and a map of the property to plan your visit.

The Everglades is a great big swamp. If your visit is in winter - November through April - no problem. If your visit is May - October, it will be hot and buggy (!) so bring lots of water and a strong mosquito repelling spray.

From Brickell, take the free monorail to Bayside Marketplace to board any number of tour busses or tour boats. There are many options.

It’s doable, though Everglades in summer is not too pleasant. You can consider using that time to visit south beach instead.

MIA to Brickell will be $35 approx by taxi, a bit less by Uber/Lyft. There is also the Metrorail for $2.25 pp.

Brickell to cruise port, about $15 by taxi.

We went on an airboat tour and went to Everglades National Park Anahinga trail. Not sure if I spelled that right. Our visit was mid June and both tours we went in the morning. Temps and weather pleasant and no bug issues :)
