Naples or Myrtle Beach in August

I have been to Naples in winter, and LOVED it. This year I have a choice to go either to Myrtle Beach or Naples for a golf vacation. . My snowbird friends who have winter homes say not to go to Naples in August but no opinion on SC. My questions are

1) Is it that brutally hot?

2) Would South Carolina be much better?

I think both places will offer relatively the same weather, hot and humid. I'm not a fan of Myrtle Beach so the choice would be easy for me. I play golf here in August and just know going in that I'm gonna sweat a lot, a lot.

I have been to both places in the summer ... both are humid as heck ... both just as hot ... I would pick SWFL in summer since I know it better than MB. They have equal humidity.

Hands down Naples! That's all I can say without getting on my soapbox about how much I along with lots of other people around here hate Myrtle!!
