A good long-term prognosis for Sanibel beaches?

To those that have followed the story over the years concerning algae, Lake O releases and Big Sugar:

Florida appears set to buy out Big Sugar and begin the process of real Everglades restoration. If this goes though this could mean that the past freshwater releases that caused massive disruptions of the waterways and coastal ecosystems will remain fully in the past. Great news! Let's hope it happens..

When you make it to the main page of Yahoo, it's a STORY! About time. I just hope it all works out. There's an awful lot of bad stuff that will take time to finally clear up.

Those of us who witnessed the awful impact on Gulf beaches due to those past freshwater releases are jumping for joy that a potential remedy seems to be evolving. Interesting though, that there is a bit of screaming protest on some of the financial websites...point being that the U.S. "should" be developing biofuels from SUGAR, not from CORN and highly critical of Florida's move to buy out U.S. Sugar operation. Hope they don't gather steam and create a new delay in the plan.
