Lodging in lindsborg

Am planning summer vacation, I know it is a long time away, and was looking to stay somewhere between OKC and Abilene and came across Lindsborg. Seems quaint and interesting but lodging Seems very limited. Is the Rosberg B and B still open ? Any opinions about the Swedish Country Inn? Honest suggestions really appreciated. Thanks to anyone who responds.

We stayed at the Swedish Country Inn about 3 years ago. The staff at the Inn were friendly and I liked the facility, but our room was the closest to the ice machine & lobby. It was too noisy and I will only go back if a quieter room was available.

Seasons of the Fox is a B&B in handsome building with nice grounds near the college in Lindsborg. The hosts expected us to conform to their schedules and did not make us feel welcome. The wifi does not extend upstairs and when we came down to the public area they acted like we were intruding. They keep the front door locked and do not give you a key, so it wasn't easy to just step out and enjoy the grounds or take a walk.

Abilene Bed & Breakfast Inn (ABBI) is nice and the hosts are very accomodating & fun. Most bedrooms share bath. The downtairs bedrooms are pass through rooms that the staff use. If I could get an upstairs room with a private bath, I would definitely go there.

Thanks for the input Lighthouse. How small were the rooms at the Swedish Country Inn? I would definitely stay on the second floor to stay away from the noise of the kitchen, but the rooms look really tiny on the website. It sounds like you liked the property just not your room location. We will be driving up from OKC after touring there and heading to Abilene to see the Eisenhower Library and looking for somewhere in between so as not to arrive too late and Lindsborg seemed to fit the bill. Staying the next several nights after in Kansas City, so will tour Abilene on the way but not stay over. What's your take on Lindsborg idea and any other suggestions that might be intersecting. Thanks.

The room we had was comfortable, but quite small. We only stayed one night and the size was fine, but larger would have meant more for a longer visit.

There is a spectacular restaurant about 8 miles away, though it is only open Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. Renaissance Cafe in Assaria. http://www.kansastravel.org/renaissancecafe.htm

Lindsborg has some nice galleries and museums. Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery on the Bethany College campus is a nice small art museum. Red Barn Studio should meet your "interesting" request.

As of August 2012, a new vacation rental opened in downtown Lindsborg. A 575 sq ft studio apartment can hold up to four guests. It contains a living / sleeping area, large bathroom and even a washer and dryer. For more information and pictures, go to their website: trad-hus.com.
