Harborfields cottages and Boothbay Harbor

Hi all - researching a week's stay at these cottages; anyone have any experiences they care to share? I searched but found nothing, which surprises me.

Also - how is Boothbay Harbor in general - lots to do and see? Best places to eat lobster? Hidden gems and insider tips? And Reid State Park - I see it's on the next peninsula over, and looks to be a daunting car ride. How long would it take; are there closer beaches to us if we stay in Boothbay at these cottages and want a beach day? And is a beach day (with swimming) actually feasible in late July or is the water too cold? We're coming from PA, so can handle a bit of a chill.

Thanks very much!

I can't speak to those specific cottages. They have a Facebook page with photos of their upgrades.

As to Boothbay Harbor, there's plenty to do and see. We usually go a couple of times a year and aren't bored yet. :-) If you search these forums, you'll see a lot of info. Here's another site to check:

"The next peninsula" over is only close if you have a boat. Getting to Reid State Park (a nice park and great beach) would require traveling through the bottleneck in Wiscasset. If you decide to go, choose a weekday. There is also a beach one peninsula "up" from Boothbay in Pemaquid:

You could combine your beach day with a trip to Colonial Pemaquid:

Hi,

This is Tim from Harborfields. I hope this is not out of line. We have many guests who come year after year -- some families are now on their second or third generation even -- but they haven't really been TripAdvisor savvy.

In terms of reviews, I can point you to an old post from the Trip Advisor forums, where one of the posters describes their stay at Harborfields:

A couple other reviews or mentions that might be helpful:

chronicle.com/forums/index.php…

I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about our cottages.

In terms of beaches, there is a small beach on Southport Island, a short 10 minutes from Harborfields:

Hope this was helpful and that I haven't overstepped the bounds.

Regards,

Tim
