Watercrest Cottages

Anyone stay here or know of them? Apparently they are all individually owned but managed as a community with pool etc.

We stayed there a few years back on a last minute trip to Maine and would not recommend it. We have stayed in a few other places previously and since. The pictures made it appear better than it was. Considering that it was expensive the services were nill (no bedding, towels, etc). The cottages were not that nice. I'd recommend looking up the top 5 list in tripadvisor in the Wells area. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

I'm afraid it's too late. we have already booked a cottage and they do have a linen service (for an extra fee). hope it is not too bad. each cottage is supposed to be different.

We have been loyal customers of Watercrest for 13 someodd years and it is a great place that has had lots of changes and ups and downs. A few years ago as someone mentioned, it truly was "the pits" It was so bad we moved somewhere else, but returned the next year. It has really gotten a lot better. Their is a linen service for extra. Also, because each cabin is owned individually, they all are interesting int their own way and usually are in good condition.

Well we just returned from 2 weeks stay here and everything was fine. The cottage was quite large with a deck as well as a nice sized screened in porch where I ate breakfast every morning. They have a nice pool, laundry, playground as well as shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball and a room full of books and movies etc you can borrow. Our cottage had a DVD/VHS player and lots of board games as well. The kids loved it.
