Will the buses be running on parade day? Are they a mob scene or worth considering?

Yes thebuses will be running. It will be crazy from around 10 am til about 2pm for pre and post parade. The parade is only from about 60th street to 45th but getting ther can be a pain.

The buses are running but not as frequently as in the summer. Several years we have taken cabs to get near 45 th street and then walked. There are crowds but it is not like summertime. Enough to make you feel like the town is hopping but not overcrowded.

Thanks Dude2360 and cate15 for the info. I guess we will avoid the buses. We are looking for a good place to nest a few chairs on the sidewalk on the north side of the parade route for easy enter/easy leave back to rehoboth. Just had both knees replaced a few months ago so parking near a good place to watch the parade would be good. Even more special if an Irish Pub would be nearby. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Some place happening, but not too deep into town.

Not too far, but if you head out to Fenwick to Smittly McGees you'll have a great time.

I'll second that: very tasty corned beef and cabbage, was just $3.17 last year. You won't be the only ones there, that's for sure!
