Anniversary weekend lodging/activities?

Hi! We are heading to TC for a quick weekend trip the weekend of October 12-14. I started looking at lodging and it looks like it is all pretty basic (Cambria, Marriott, etc). Are there any unique places or nicer hotels that would have a more "special" feel to them? We are planning to hike and hit up a winery or brewery or two, but I am open to any other suggestions of fun things to do this time of year!

It all depends on your budget. There are some quaint places and B&B's on the leelenau and old mission peninsulas plus Sutton's Bay or Leland.

The TA list doesnt show some of the good lodging options, partly due to the fact some of the more interesting ones are not right in town, but perhaps for a bit more option, check the tourist link list https://www.traversecity.com/summer/hotels/…

This is where we like to stay. Nice hotel right downtown walk to everything. Very cool bar with wonderful view of the bay on the very top of the hotel.

Chateau Chantal

Chateau Grand Traverse Inn

Both on Old Mission Peninsula. Worth looking into.

We just got back from an anniversary weekend in Traverse City and stayed at Chateau Grand Traverse Inn. Accommodations very clean, beautiful common space, chef appointed breakfast items, gorgeous view and a bottle of wine daily delivered to your room. My only complaint is that we could hear our neighbors in the next room (which means they could likely hear us too) ;) But it was lovely and we enjoyed our stay!

As far as activities this is what we did:

- 5 hr Wine tasting tour in Leelanau

- Drive up Old MIssion to the light house and a quiet stroll on the beach

- Glass (or two) of wine on the patio at Mari Vineyard (gorgeous view)

- Strolled the shops in downtown Traverse City

- Dinner at the Boathouse

- Sunrise Hot Air balloon ride

- Sunset cruise on the Nauti-Cat on West Bay

- Spa appts at Pavlova Spa

We feel in love with TC -- next time we'll hit more breweries...maybe the Paddle for pints trip.
