It depends on the route- some go up around Memphis and take the interstate and others go up thru the country to Corinth. The last route does not have as much as it is small towns.
The last route takes you near the Shiloh Civil War battlefield and there is just not a lot there in terms of hotels or restaurants.
Can give you restaurant suggestions in Oxford if you need them.
Would love suggestions of restaurants in Oxford! I am been reading on this site, and there seems to be many good choices.
We will need several lunches and dinners (hotel will have breakfast....but will be glad to entertain breakfast places!). I may get a wild hair and drive up to Memphis for Saturday for the evening, too!
We have family in the area so are frequent visitors.
Rendevous BBQ is good in Memphis.
We always stay at the Hampton Inn or HIE- both very good.
If on the weekend then drive about 30 minutes outside of town to Taylor Grocery for some great food and live music.
In town there is Big Bad Breakfast for great breakfast/brunch food.
Thanks for this tips! My son and his team will be staying at the HIE, so we are staying at one of the Hampton Inns ;)Edited: 31 January 2015, 11:12
