TR Circus Circus and Cher

This is my first TR so maybe a little slow but here goes.

I flew to vegas from New York as we did 2 nights there first. we flew Delta which is a pretty good airline.

We arrived in vegas around 6pm local time collected our bags then went and caught the shuttle to our hotel Circus Circus, waited about 20 mins in the line for check in then made our way to our room. I think we were on the 34th floor with views to the back of the strip. The room was a good size and we had 2 double beds it was clean and comfortable, decor was a little dated as was the bathroom.

We didnt do much that night just popped next door to slots of fun and got a hot dog to eat.

Woke early and made our way to Mc Donalds for breakfast, the weather was good as it was in January but anywhere would of felt warmer as we had come from NYC where there had been loads of snow!! We walked down the strip calling into pretty much all of the hotels, by the time we got to New York New York our feet were killing so we sat for a while and have a coffee. We then crossed over the strip and began our journey back up the strip, we called into the food court and had a quick bite to eat then went back to the Hotel.

After a rest we had a look round our hotel, one would think that this place could get really busy with kids in peak season, didnt to any of the rides as im not really a fan and my sister who i was travelling with was 35 weeks pregnant! The casino can get a little smokey at times and also had a funny smell to it. We decided to eat at rock and ritas and we both ordered a steak, i asked for mine medium nut it was more well done but as we were hungry and tired we ate and left. Circus Circus is meant to have the best steakhouse but unfortunatly we didnt try this.

The following morning we went to dennys for breakfast it was cheap and huge portions which set us up for the day, when walking down the strip we bought a trip to hoover dam for the following day and at a much better price then the ticket lady at the hotel, i didnt have to pay anything up front just my mobile number. We went to the hotels the other side of the strip and i really liked the flamingo gardens (more about that later) We did a bit of shopping and had a good view of the bellagio fountains from one of the walkways the fountains are a must see and its free bonus!

We caught the deuce bus back up on the strip it was about $7 for a 24hr pass, we called into slots of fun again and got a subway meal deal to eat back in the room.

The following morning we waited outside for our bus to pick us up and made our way to hoover dam, amazing to see but found the tour inside quite boring and to get all the way down they cram you into a lift so its a pretty tight squeeze! On our return to the hotel we got changed and headed out up to fremont street, I was a fan of this place it seemed to be full of drunks and i didnt feel very safe so we only lasted up there for about 40 minutes!!

The following day was pretty much the same, sight seeing shopping etc We bought some tickets from the half price ticket booths that located all over the place, we were off to see cher at ceasars that night. We arrived early and got to our seats which were located right at the back so the view wasnt that great but the show was very good.

Check out day has arrived so we grabbed a subway again from slots of fun so we could eat it when we got to the airport, we phoned the shuttle people who collected us from the backof the hotel and off we went. Vegas has quite a nice airport but no where to have a smoke, we were flying back via Atlanta so i had a quick ciggy inbetween flights.

All in all i really enjoyed my trip, we hadnt done much really as my sister was heavily pregnant (she found out she was pregnant after we booked our trip).

I am returning to Vegas flying on the 18th June, i am staying at the Tropicana and getting married in the Flamingo on the 21st, As i had fallen in love with the gardens this is where i decided i would marry my bf. We are going for 7 nights so planning on packing as much is as possible, we are also eating at Prime Steakhouse on the wedding night so i will post my trip report as soon as im home.

Your sister traveled across the country at 35 weeks pregnant??? Hmm...can't say I approve, considering I had 2 of my kids at 35 weeks!! And she walked from Circus Circus to NYNY???? Again...was she trying to induce labor???

YIKES!!!

That aside, I'm glad you had a good trip and I hope you enjoy again for your upcoming wedding!

I'm sorry if I'm a little confused, was this report from January or a current trip? There is a huge difference in the weather and it very much changes your LV experience. For instance in January we don't walk around much at all, and of course there is no pool.

I look forward to your impressions of Tropicana, and Flamingo is a lovely venue for a wedding. Thanks for the report.

Although I will never stay again at Circus Circus, I will play there on the slots.

Any slot wins at Sots of Fun or Circus? Sorry if you mentioned this and I missed it.

I've eaten at the steakhouse at Circus and it was no big deal. If that is what they consider "best," then Vegas is in trouble; steak was huge and bland.

Finger-wagging holier-than-thou types offering unsolicited and unwarranted disapprovals aside, thanks for the report, especially info about the oft-maligned Circus Circus.

Cher was recently at Caesars?

@ nightdrive...

Call me holier than thou if you wish, but there isn't an OB alive who would want a 35 weeker flying, and I'm surprised the airline let her on a plane. The risk of blood clots is significantly higher for pregnant ladies, not to mention giving birth at 30,000 feet isn't exactly what the flight attendants are trained to deal with.

Ans all that walking at 35 weeks would have been downright painful, no matter what kind of physical shape she was in. Been there, done that...4 times. I even went to vegas at 6 months pregnant which was the very latest my OB wanted me to fly excet in an extreme emergency. And it was a VERY difficult trip.
